SMS Messaging Program

EvolveVet — Evolve Veterinary Care, Inc. — operates a text messaging program on behalf of the veterinary practices in its network. This page describes that program in full. It supplements the SMS Messaging Program section of our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Who sends the messages
EvolveVet sends every message on behalf of the veterinary practice that treats your pet. Each message names both EvolveVet and the practice, so you always know who is writing to you and about which pet.

How you join, and why joining is optional
You join in writing, on your veterinary practice's intake form. The form carries a standalone SMS checkbox. It is unchecked by default, and you must check it yourself. Practice staff do not check it for you.
That checkbox is the only way to join. We do not enroll you from a spoken request, and there is no keyword you can text to start receiving messages.
Consent is optional. The practice does not require the checkbox to register you, to book an appointment, or to treat your pet. Nothing about your care changes if you leave it blank.
The practice records your authorization against the specific phone number you gave. Only a number carrying that authorization is ever messaged. EvolveVet does not buy, rent, or otherwise obtain phone numbers from third parties, and does not message a number that has not been authorized.
What we send
Messages relate to your pet's care at the practice:
- Reminders that a pet is due for an assessment or procedure
- Appointment information
- Replies to questions you send us

We do not send marketing or promotional messages. This program carries no offers, discounts, or promotions. If we ever add them, we will ask you for a separate authorization first, and you will be free to decline it and keep the care reminders described here.
Message frequency varies. There is no fixed number of messages per month.
Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving text messages, depending on your plan.
How to stop receiving messages
Reply STOP to any message. You receive one confirmation message and nothing further.
You can also ask your veterinary practice to withdraw your authorization, which has the same effect, or call the practice on the number shown in its messages.
To start again, ask the practice to record your authorization on the intake form again.

Delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Information collected through this program is handled under our Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your information. We do not share your mobile number, or your consent to receive text messages, with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share it only with the messaging and telecommunications providers that deliver the messages on our behalf, and only for that purpose. Those providers act as service providers under contract and may not use your information for their own purposes.
